BACR Volunteers are trained to deploy the CR-17 Kit-Bag. This contains  all the basic life-saving equipment needed to resuscitate or support a patient with life threatening conditions. It is designed to be used for the (circa) 20 minute period in which an Ambulance arrives. However - please note Ambulances usually arrive within 4-8 minutes of all life-threatening incidents!
The kit consists of:
§Automated Electronic Defibrillator - AED - a computer controlled diagnostic and shock device designed to re-polarise a heart that is in VF.

§An Oxygen tank and masks to provide O2 flow

§Oropharyngeal airways

§Aspirators to clear throat blockages

§Ambu-vent masks and other CPR accessories

§ Hi Vis tabbards, Torches, Bandages, Gloves, Face Masks, Gel and many other medical products.
Please note CR's carry NO drugs, syringes, knives ..etc as we are not Paramedics and un-authorised to carry out any invasive procedures on patients!
