A voluntary organisation serving the communities of Burghfield, Burghfield Common, Wokefield, Grazeley and Pingewood
FROM JULY 4th 2006 TO DATE WE HAVE ATTENDED 410 CALL OUTS
Burghfield Area Community Responders (BACR) are a team of volunteers from the Burghfield, Grazeley and Wokefield villages, south of Junction's 11 & 12 of the M4 Motorway in Berkshire.
Our goal is to deliver emergency life support to our area within 4 minutes of a 999 call.
From July 4th 2006 to date we have attended 410 call outs, with Christmas day 2007 being the busiest having attended 4 call outs.
We carry medical
Backpacks
containing oxygen and an Automated Defibrillator (AED)
which enables
us to attempt to shock a cardiac arrested patient back to life in those vital first 4 minutes and maintain
life-support
until an ambulance arrives.
We work under mandate of the South Central NHS Ambulance Service (SCAS) and are trained and dispatched by their staff & controllers. BACR itself, is a voluntary organisation that administers the CR-17 kits to our area on a (soon to be) 24 * 7 basis.
We rely on
Donations
from the public and local businesses to keep our service operational.

CF 017 & CF 062 Co-ordinator

In an emergency - dial 999 and if appropriate an ambulance controller will dispatch a community responder.
